Sarah Daly Counselling & Psychotherapy

Hi, I’m Sarah.

I offer a calm, grounded and confidential counselling space for adults navigating experiences such as anxiety, grief, loss, trauma, stress, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, life transitions, or times when life simply feels overwhelming or uncertain. I offer in-person counselling in Dungarvan, Co. Waterford, and online sessions throughout Ireland.

I hold a BSc (Hons) in Counselling and Psychotherapy from PCI College and Middlesex University. I am a Pre-Accredited Member of the IACP (Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), working within its ethical framework to provide a safe and professional service.

My approach is humanistic, relational and integrative, informed by trauma awareness and somatic understanding. I place importance on creating a space where you feel safe enough to slow down, speak openly, and feel supported.

Therapy with me is collaborative and grounded in respect, empathy and authenticity. I see my role as supporting you to explore what is happening for you in a way that helps you understand yourself more clearly and at your own pace.

Sometimes people come to counselling during a difficult period, and sometimes when things look “fine” on the outside but don’t feel that way internally. You don’t need to be in crisis or have a specific problem to benefit from therapy. Some people come because they’re curious about themselves, want to better understand their thoughts and patterns, or simply feel ready to explore life more intentionally.

“Whatever brings you here is enough to begin.”

Counselling & Psychotherapy

Counselling offers a confidential and non-judgemental space to reflect on what is happening in your life, at a pace that feels manageable for you. Many people find it helpful to have a regular space where they can put words to experiences that may feel confusing, heavy, or difficult to make sense of alone.

My approach is person-centred, humanistic and relational, meaning that the quality of the therapeutic relationship is central. Feeling respected, understood and emotionally safe is an important foundation for meaningful therapeutic work.

I work in an integrative and trauma-informed way, drawing where appropriate from psychodynamic understanding, mindfulness, inner child work, and selected CBT-informed and trauma-focused approaches. I also pay attention to how experiences may be held in the body, alongside thoughts and emotions, supporting greater awareness, grounding and emotional regulation.

Rather than focusing on “fixing” difficulties, my approach invites us to become gently curious about your emotional patterns, relationships, and responses to life’s experiences. Through this curiosity, a deeper understanding of yourself can begin to emerge, often supporting greater self-awareness, self-compassion, and a stronger sense of who you are. From this place, it can become easier to respond to life’s experiences in ways that feel more authentic and true to you.

I see therapy as a collaborative process. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to offer a supportive space where your understanding, strengths, and inner resources can be recognised and nurtured.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting. Sessions begin with whatever feels most present or important for you at the time.

Reiki Support

I also offer Reiki as a separate service for those seeking gentle, restorative support for relaxation and wellbeing. Reiki is a calming, non-invasive practice that supports the body and mind to slow down, release tension and reconnect with a sense of grounding and ease.

Sessions take place in a quiet, supportive space where you are invited to pause from the demands of everyday life and simply rest. Many people find it helpful during times of stress, overwhelm, fatigue or when life feels busy and full, offering a dedicated space to stop, breathe and reset.

A serene tabletop scene symbolizing emotional healing: a smooth, polished wooden surface hosts a stack of soft-cover psychology books in muted neutral tones, a small amethyst crystal cluster, and a gentle green ceramic bowl filled with polished river stones engraved with words such as “calm,” “strength,” and “clarity” (text legible but not dominant). A lavender sprig rests nearby. Natural window light from the left creates soft highlights on the stones and faint reflections on the wood. The background falls into a creamy, unobtrusive blur. Shot in photographic realism with a close-up, shallow depth of field, the composition feels peaceful, reflective, and grounded, ideal for illustrating psychotherapy and emotional wellbeing.

Gentle, holistic Reiki sessions to help restore balance, ease stress and tension, and support emotional and physical wellbeing.

A tranquil Reiki healing space with a neatly made massage table dressed in crisp white cotton sheets and a soft, dove-grey blanket folded at the foot. At the head of the table lies a cushioned face cradle covered in smooth fabric. Surrounding the table, a low wooden cabinet holds neatly arranged essential oil bottles, a small Himalayan salt lamp glowing warmly, and a cluster of smooth crystals on a linen runner. Soft, warm ambient lighting from recessed ceiling lights and the salt lamp creates gentle shadows and a cocoon-like feel. Photographic realism from a three-quarter angle, with clear focus on the table and subtle background blur, capturing a clean, professional, and deeply soothing Reiki environment.
